You can begin exploring the British capital, which never ceases to surprise its visitors. Right next to it, you’ll see Big Ben, from where you can easily reach Buckingham Palace through St. James’s Park.

If you are already familiar with London, you can opt for a day discovering the university city of Oxford to escape the hustle and bustle of the capital.
Alternative option: replace Oxford with Cambridge / Portsmouth / Brighton.

Stonehenge
Your excursion day starts at Salisbury. Departure from the station to reach this lovely medieval town (1h23 by train). With its stunning cathedral and timber-framed houses, Salisbury is an ideal stop before your visit to Stonehenge.
Visit to Stonehenge with recommendations from Discovery Trains. One of the most iconic monuments in England, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at the Stone Circle, considered a wonder of the world, built by human hands 4,500 years ago.
Return to Salisbury. If you didn’t have time upon arrival, visit the Cathedral at the end of the journey (entry ticket included). Free time to stroll through the town until your train back to London.

Bristol
Today you leave the British capital to travel to Bristol (1h34 by train). A green and vibrant city and a must-visit destination during your stay in England.
After dropping your luggage at the hotel, start your day of exploration on Gloucester Road, a shopping street with beautifully preserved period buildings. Stop at Saint Nicholas Market for lunch.
The Bristol Cathedral, the street art districts, and the harbor area with the elegant steamship SS Great Britain will further enrich your day. If you still have energy, don’t hesitate to climb Cabot Tower to admire the magnificent view of Bristol.

Bath
In 15 minutes by train you reach Bath, a spa town. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this city attracts history and literature lovers.
Begin your visit with the Roman Baths (entry ticket included). Experience the warmth of the thermal waters and learn how the Romans enjoyed relaxing here two millennia ago. Stroll through the city’s alleys up to the Circus, a group of 18th-century buildings whose architect gave them almost the same dimensions as the Stonehenge megalithic site.
Return to Bristol. Take advantage of this last afternoon to get lost in the shopping district of Clifton Village, dotted with sumptuous Georgian villas, undoubtedly one of the most pleasant areas of Bristol for a walk. Make sure not to miss the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
