Set off on an exploration of the world of Belgian surrealist painters!
Depart in the morning from Paris Nord station onboard the TGV Lyria (1h20).
Drop off your luggage at the hotel and head to Place Royale to discover the Magritte Museum. It offers a comprehensive overview of the evolution of the most iconic Belgian surrealist painter. An original and immersive museography plunges you into the artist’s world through his paintings, drawings, sculptures, and explores the themes of illusion vs reality.
After lunch, complete your encounter with the painter by visiting the Magritte House.
From Brussels Central station, take the suburban train to the small listed station of Jette, then walk for about ten minutes.
The Magritte House is set in the residence where the Belgian surrealist painter lived for 24 years. Transformed into a museum, it displays works and personal belongings, offering an intimate glimpse into his life and creative process.

Ostende
You take the train to Ostend (1h15).
Drop off your luggage at the hotel and set off to explore “the Queen of seaside towns”.
Ostend is a coastal city renowned for its long fine sandy beach, lively port, and seaside promenade. Enjoy lunch with fresh seafood!
Early in the afternoon, take the tram that runs along the coast to the Coxyde Saint-Idesbald station (1h20).
Once you arrive in this small, peaceful, family-friendly seaside town, walk to the Delvaux Museum, reopened March 29th.
Located in a residential area, the Delvaux Museum houses the largest collection in the world of works by the Belgian surrealist painter. Spanning over 1,000 m², it offers a deep immersion into Delvaux’s universe, marked by enigmatic women, skeletons, and melancholic landscapes of remarkable technical precision.
Take advantage of the beach, or return directly to Ostend.

Paris
In the morning, visit the James Ensor House, located on the street that bears his name.
Both the home and studio of the painter, the House has remained almost unchanged since the artist’s era. Here, you can discover where James Ensor, a precursor of the surrealist movement known for his biting works on the themes of carnival and masks, found his inspiration for most of his adult life.
Early in the afternoon, head to the station for your return trip to Paris by train (2h50).
