You are welcomed at Bilbao station at 10:00. Settle into the comfortable Costa Verde Express train and meet the crew for the start of your train journey through Spain. After getting settled in your cabin, head out with your guide for a panoramic city tour and visit the Guggenheim Museum. Back on board, enjoy your meal as the Costa Verde Express heads towards Santander. In the afternoon, explore Santander and its bays, regarded as one of the most beautiful in the world, then enjoy free time. End the day with dinner at a restaurant in town.

Enjoy your breakfast on board as the Costa Verde Express arrives at Cabezón de la Sal. A coach takes you to visit the Altamira neo-cave, known for its prehistoric paintings, as well as the medieval town of Santillana del Mar, voted the prettiest town in Spain. Have lunch in Santillana del Mar before getting back on the train towards the Asturias, continuing to Llanes, a charming coastal town on a rugged shoreline.

Start your morning excursion by coach to Cangas de Onís, the former capital of the Asturias in the 8th century. Venture into the heart of the Picos de Europa, the highest mountain range of the Cantabrian Range, to visit the Santuario de Covadonga, its basilica and cave, an important pilgrimage site, as well as the magnificent Lake Enol. Back on the Costa Verde Express, set off for Oviedo, the capital of the Asturias, while enjoying your lunch on board. Enjoy a visit to Oviedo, famous for its Gothic cathedral.

Enjoy your final breakfast on board on the Costa Verde Express train as you arrive in Ferrol. Say goodbye to the crew and continue by coach to the Galician capital, Santiago de Compostela. Visit this famous city for its cathedral and its historic centre listed by UNESCO. Have lunch at the Parador Reyes Católicos before we say goodbye to you at around 4:00 pm.

For six days, we’ll set off on a one-of-a-kind journey through Green Spain, following the winding metre-gauge railway that runs along the Bay of Biscay. From Bilbao to Gijón—or vice versa—we’ll visit its towns and explore its cities, both along the coast and inland, as we head up to the lakes of Covadonga in the heart of the Picos de Europa mountains. You’ll enjoy the gastronomy of northern Spain, one of the most renowned at national and international level. The train you’ll travel on is a period train, with all the comforts of today. All cabins are air-conditioned and feature a full private bathroom with a sauna and hydromassage. You can also make the most of the train’s spacious lounges and dining rooms, which are available to passengers and attended by efficient staff at all times.
All train compartments are identical. They are beautiful historic suites, adorned with paneling, creating a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere.
Each room features a double bed (1.20 m x 1.85 m), a desk, a wardrobe, a luggage compartment, a minibar, and a safe. They are air-conditioned and have a complete private bathroom equipped with a hairdryer and a set of toiletries.
