You arrive in Bucharest, a vibrant capital with many faces. You are greeted and settle into a comfortable 3* hotel located right next to the train station, perfect for train travel.

Depending on your arrival time, you can start exploring the city at your own pace. The historic center, with its cobbled streets, elegant cafés, and Belle Époque façades, immerses you immediately in the city’s unique atmosphere. A beautiful introduction to discovering the soul of Romania.

Today, a French-speaking guide accompanies you for an in-depth discovery of Bucharest. You begin with the gigantic Palace of the Parliament (except Saturday and Sunday), the second largest administrative building in the world, and a true symbol of Ceausescu’s megalomania. Then, you visit the Spring Palace, the former private residence of the dictatorial couple, astonishingly luxurious, which transports you into the intimacy of a recent past.

In the afternoon, you head to the Village Museum, located in the large Herastrau Park. This open-air museum takes you through the rural regions of Romania thanks to faithfully reconstructed traditional houses, mills, and wooden churches.

In the morning, make your own way to the train station. Your railway adventure in Romania begins.

You leave Bucharest by train to reach Transylvania. After Câmpina, your train enters the Carpathians for a scenic journey through gorges and waterfalls, as well as pastures and mountains.

Arrive in Brasov, a charming medieval town nestled among the mountains. Upon arrival, a quick transfer takes you to your 3* hotel, ideally located on Council Square, right in the heart of the historic center.

Freely explore this elegant city, its ramparts, its Black Church, and its pretty streets lined with colorful Saxon houses.

Accompanied by your French-speaking guide, you take a private transport to Bran Castle, often presented as Dracula’s Castle, even though the historical link with Vlad the Impaler (the real Dracula) is very tenuous! But that takes nothing away from its gothic atmosphere or its mysterious charm. Perched on a rocky outcrop, it fascinates with its gothic allure and its history between legend and reality.

Bran Castle was built in 1377 by the Saxons of Brasov to defend the border and watch over the Bran Pass, a strategic point against invasions. It also served as a customs post between the two regions.

Today, it is mostly famous for its link with the Dracula myth, even though Vlad the Impaler, the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s novel, probably never lived there.

After the visit, you return to Brasov, where you can take the cable car (or the trail for the more adventurous) to the summit of Tampa Hill. The panoramic view over the city and the surrounding mountains is breathtaking.

A peaceful return to the hotel to enjoy the evening in one of the typical taverns of the old town. The guide will share some recommendations with you.

This morning, the driver takes you to the station where you board the train to Sighisoara, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful gems of Transylvania. It’s like traveling through an open-air medieval fairytale.

You leave the mountainous environment of the Carpathians surrounding Brasov, with their vast conifer forests, and gradually enter a world of gentle hills, green valleys, and endless cultivated fields.

Upon arrival, settle into a 3* hotel near the station before heading out at your leisure to discover this medieval city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Stroll through its cobbled alleys, admire its pastel-colored houses, fortified towers, and the famous Clock Tower. Don’t miss Vlad Tepes’ birthplace, better known as Dracula. A real step back in time!

Your railway journey continues to Sibiu, with free time for a stopover in Medias, another town with rich Saxon heritage.

Upon arrival in Sibiu, your French-speaking guide will meet you for a comprehensive tour of this elegant and peaceful city, renowned for its “eye” roofs, large squares, and covered passages.

Settle into your hotel and enjoy some free time.

After breakfast, head to the train station for one last picturesque journey by train along the Carpathian Mountains. With a quick connection in Brasov, you will reach Bucharest in the early afternoon.

Settle again into a 3* hotel near the station, ideal for a quiet final evening. If you wish, take the opportunity to return to the Lipscani district for a last drink or some souvenirs.
