Stroll along the majestic Ringstrasse, lined with palaces and iconic buildings, then lose yourself in the cobbled lanes of Innere Stadt. Be charmed by St. Stephen’s Cathedral (Stephansdom), a true Gothic gem, and admire the stunning façade of the State Opera House. Take a break in one of the famous Viennese cafés and savor a slice of Sachertorte or an Apfelstrudel paired with Viennese coffee.

Aboard a regular train, travel to Graz, Austria’s second-largest city, known for its authenticity. For 2.5 hours, your train crosses beautiful Alpine and lush landscapes, offering a truly scenic experience.

A highlight of the journey is the legendary Semmeringbahn crossing, a 41-kilometre railway line and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known for its impressive viaducts and tunnels carved into the mountainside, this line, built in 1854, was the world’s first mountain railway—an incredible technical feat for its time.

After dropping your luggage at the hotel, embark on a 3-hour guided tour to discover the treasures of this city with a French-speaking guide. The tour begins at Hauptplatz, in the heart of the historic center, surrounded by beautiful, colorful façades and Renaissance buildings. This lively square is dominated by the imposing Rathaus (Town Hall).

Herrengasse, the main avenue lined with elegant palaces and charming boutiques, the double-spiral staircase—an architectural curiosity from the 15th century—St. Giles’ Cathedral, a Gothic gem hidden behind a modest façade. The tour ends at Schlossberg, the hilltop fortress overlooking Graz, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views over the city’s red rooftops and steeples.

It’s the big day! Settle comfortably aboard the “Transalpin” panoramic carriage for an unforgettable journey between Graz and Zell am See-Kaprun, in the heart of the Austrian Alps. Thanks to the train’s panoramic windows, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of lush valleys, waterfalls, and glaciers in the Hohe Tauern National Park.

After four hours of this enchanting route, you’ll arrive in Zell am See. The town welcomes you with postcard-perfect scenery: a crystal-clear turquoise lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Stroll through the cobbled streets of the historic center, where picturesque shops, cozy cafés, and medieval buildings await.

Check in at the hotel and enjoy free time. A cruise on the lake is a fantastic way to discover the region from a new perspective.
During 45 minutes, enjoy magnificent views from the boat of the Kitzsteinhorn, the Steinerne Meer, and, of course, Zell’s local mountain, the Schmittenhöhe.

Morning at leisure in the nature of the Alps. Take the cable car up to the summit of the Schmittenhöhe (1,965m), offering a 360° panoramic view of the Alps. Several well-marked trails allow you to walk back down to Zell am See through meadows and forests (at an additional charge).

In the afternoon, board a panoramic carriage for your train journey to Innsbruck. The railway journey between Zell am See and Innsbruck is one of Austria’s most picturesque, crossing the Kitzbühel Alps and the Wilder Kaiser range. The train winds through lush valleys, sparkling rivers, and towering peaks, offering incredible views of the Alpine landscape.

Arrival in Innsbruck, capital of Tyrol, is stunning. The Nordkette mountains rise just behind the city, forming a dramatic backdrop. The train station is only a few minutes from the historic center, home to the Golden Roof and the Habsburg Imperial Palace.

Don’t miss the Imperial Palace (Hofburg), former residence of the Habsburgs, and the summit of the Nordkette (Hafelekar, 2,256 m), accessible by funicular directly from the city center. In the afternoon, continue your discovery with a visit to Ambras Castle (entry included). This Renaissance castle, surrounded by peaceful gardens and offering stunning views of the Alps, is renowned for its weapons collection, works of art, and impressive gallery of Habsburg portraits.
