  • A complete and harmonious itinerary

Discover the royal cities of Central Europe. Baroque gilding, imperial bridges, animated clocks, and precious Art Nouveau flourishes…

Day 1 - PARIS - MUNICH (Train) *
Gare de l'Est, Paris

*timetables and the stopover city may change depending on the date, your departure city and availability

Your train trip in Europe starts in Paris Gare de l’Est.
After a stop in Mannheim.

Depart for Munich in the late morning. Arrival of your train in Munich in the afternoon.

You settle into the selected hotel near the station for some well-earned rest, then set off to discover Munich.
Capital of the German state of Bavaria, Munich is famous for Oktoberfest, which takes place there every year, but it is also and above all one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. Stroll through the streets of the old town, with its Bavarian atmosphere, all the way to Marienplatz, where you can admire the magnificent Town Hall and its carillon, with 32 automata that come to life every day at 10am and 12pm, and in season at 5pm. Don’t miss also the climb to the top of St. Peter’s Church tower, right in the city centre, offering a fantastic panorama over the whole city.
Overnight at the hotel

Day 2 - MUNICH – VIENNA (Train)
Munich

After a free morning to extend your discovery of Munich, head to the station.

Departure of your train journey for Vienna in the afternoon.

Arrival of the train in Vienna in the evening.

Check in at a hotel that is very well suited to your trip and located in the historic centre.
Overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast

Day 3 - VIENNA

Enjoy this free day to discover the city.

For 500 years, Vienna has been one of Europe’s key centres: part of world history and art history was written here. Walking its streets is like flirting with a succession of “beautiful eras”. Admire, along the circular boulevard Ring strasse, the magnificent buildings handed down by the Austro-Hungarian Empire: the Museum of Art and History, the City Hall, the National Opera, the Parliament, the Theatre… Baroque facades give way to eclectic buildings, then to Jugendstil-style apartment blocks, Art Deco, Bauhaus… Behind St Stephen’s Cathedral, you can still admire medieval Vienna. You’ll also have time to make a quick visit to the Secession Palace to see Gustav Klimt’s Beethoven frieze and enjoy a delicious Viennese coffee.

A little further on, visit the Belvedere Palace or the Hofburg (and its Sissi Museum), and of course continue on to the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the Habsburgs.
Overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast

Day 4 - VIENNA - BUDAPEST (Train)
Budapest

Train departure from Vienna in the morning.

Arrival in Budapest in the early afternoon.
Settle into your chosen hotel, specially located in the historic centre, and set off to meet the city.

Set on either side of the Danube, which once separated the two towns of Buda and Pest, the city freed from communism 30 years ago has been waking up since the 2000s: it has rediscovered the extraordinary riches of its historical, cultural, architectural and artistic heritage. This buzzing city with a wild nightlife is a real jewel at the heart of Europe.
From Buda Castle hill, which you reach by the funicular or by walking through the cobbled lanes of the old town, you overlook the plain of Pest for a spectacular view.

Around the Royal Palace, fountains, palaces and majestic gates follow one another, up to the statue of the Prince Eugene of Savoy, a local hero for having stopped the Turks at the decisive Battle of Zenta in 1697.
Take the grand Chain Bridge spanning the Danube and admire the incredible Hungarian Parliament Building, the city’s symbol, inspired by Westminster—perhaps the finest building in Europe. As night falls, its lights make it even more breathtaking.

Visiting Budapest means strolling around Heroes’ Square, your Margaret Island where locals gather in the good season, and the picturesque market in the Central Hall… It’s also perhaps the chance to discover its House of Terror, which recalls the troubled history of the dictatorships that ruled Hungary, and of course to try its famous thermal baths too.
Overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast

Day 5 - BUDAPEST

Historic capital of the Kingdom of Bohemia, Prague is still today one of Europe’s leading cultural and religious centres, since the 14th century, when it became the capital of the Holy Roman Germanic Empire. Baroque, Gothic and Art Nouveau styles blend in this old city, listed as UNESCO World Heritage. Since the Velvet Revolution in 1989, the city has experienced exceptional growth, to the point that today it is the 6th richest city in Europe.
Take the Charles Bridge, and explore the romantic district of Mala Strana, before going to admire the astronomical clock and its automata. Don’t miss the Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral and the surprising “Dancing House”.

Germany’s capital, once split in two by the famous Wall, is marked by the recent history of World War II and the Cold War.
