Day 1 - EDINBURGH - SPEAN BRIDGE
Edimbourgh

Flight or train to Edinburgh on request.

Approximate departure at 1:56 pm.

The journey begins at the Edinburgh Waverley station, where guests board the legendary Royal Scotsman. As the train leaves the Scottish capital, the scenery gradually transforms: it skirts the tranquil Loch Lomond before crossing the vast moors of Rannoch Moor, one of Scotland’s wildest regions.
On board, guests discover the warm wooden interiors of the train, its inviting lounges, and the observation car, the social heart of the trip. In the evening, an informal dinner is served in the dining cars, followed by a relaxing moment over a drink or to the sound of a traditional Scottish tune. The train spends the night at Spean Bridge.

Overnight aboard the Royal Scotsman (D).

Day 2 - SPEAN BRIDGE - FORT WILLIAM - OBAN

On waking, the train continues its westward journey. Breakfast is served as the majestic mountains roll by the windows, sometimes offering views of the Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK.
In the morning, guests disembark at Arisaig for a stroll along the Morar beach, famous for its white sand and stunning views of the Isle of Skye. Lunch is then served on board, as the train crosses the spectacular Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous by the Harry Potter films.
The afternoon offers two options: a guided tour of Glenfinnan to relive the saga of Prince Charles Edward Stuart, or a hike in the Glen Nevis valley to the Steall Waterfall. In the evening, return on board for a convivial dinner and a new Scottish soirée in the observation car. Overnight on board.

At the end of the day, the train heads south and reaches Kilmarnock. A formal dinner is served on board, followed by an elegant evening. Overnight on board.

Luxury

The Royal Scotsman train operated by Belmond is one of the most luxurious luxury trains in the world. It was first launched in 1985. In 1990, the original carriages were removed and replaced with a new set of Pullman carriages, renovated by James Park Associates.

Gloss-lacquered wood panels and warm-toned fabrics have perfected the appeal of this Edwardian country house. The adjoining cabins, equipped with steam showers, set a new standard in comfort and heralded the birth of a luxury legend.

In 2007, the train was named Royal Scotsman and has never stopped raising the bar for style and innovation. The addition of the Bamford Haybarn Spa carriage marks a world first in the pursuit of perfect wellbeing. A true trailblazer on the rails, Royal Scotsman is an impressive way to go, steeped in the spirit of the Scottish Highlands.

The double and twin cabins measure 7.9 m² and include two single beds or a fixed double bed, a vanity unit, a full-length wardrobe, electric command heating, electric fans, windows that open, and a call button. Each cabin has its own private bathroom with a shower, a washbasin, and a toilet.
