At dawn, you arrive in Umeå, a vibrant city nestled in a stunning natural setting.
Umeå is often called the « City of Birches » thanks to the hundreds of birch trees lining its streets. The abundance of greenery, even right in the city center, is striking.
The compact size of the city means you can easily walk to the hotel from the train station.
Drop off your luggage at the hotel reception and start exploring the city’s architecture, which blends contemporary design and traditional touches.
The Bildmuseet museum offers panoramic views over this captivating city where nature, culture, and innovation meet. The open-air museum, Gammlia, is a must-see, showcasing historic buildings such as houses, churches, and farms. Sliperiet, a creative center where design, art, and innovation merge.
Possibility to take a guided city bike tour (in English). The tour goes through Umeå’s districts such as « Öst på stan » and « Teg. » You then continue to everyone’s favorite spot, all year round, the “Bölesholmarna” – the Umeå River Islands. Most of the route is devoted to scenic cycling along the Umeå River.

In the morning, take the ferry—one of the most environmentally friendly in the world—for a memorable 3-hour experience in the midst of natural beauty. You’ll cruise through waters dotted with small islands, offering picturesque scenery. The ferry travels along the Kvarken archipelago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its unique geological formations.

Immerse yourself in the region’s history and culture at the Ostrobothnian Museum, where you’ll find exhibitions on local life, maritime history, and traditions.
At the Kvarken Nature Center you’ll learn how geology and glaciers have shaped this remarkable region. Hovrättsesplanaden, a charming esplanade, leads you to the seaside. Enjoy views of the Kvarken archipelago and the sea air before joining a 2-hour excursion through the Kvarken archipelago.

Helsinki
In the morning, board the regular train. The journey takes you through typical Finnish scenery, from the west coast to the capital. As the train passes through agricultural plains and birch-lined forests, you enjoy the final views of the Gulf of Bothnia.
Arrive in Helsinki and check in at your hotel, located next to the train station.
Discover Helsinki’s must-sees, starting with the majestic Senate Square and its famous cathedral. Stroll along the lively waterfront and the market square, before relaxing in Esplanadi Park.
Don’t miss the remarkable Temppeliaukio Church, carved directly out of rock. Take a break in a historic café to enjoy a traditional fika, then explore the Design District along the elegant Bulevardi Avenue.
